Weed Control

Pre & Post emergent treatments are completed throughout the year to either prevent or rid your lawn of broad-leaf weeds.

Pre-Emergent treatments keep weeds from germinating.  For the weeds that do sneak through, Post-Emergent treatments help to rid your lawn on broad-leaf weeds that appear in your lawn.

Pelletized Lime

This treatment is typically completed in January or June, lime balances the pH in the soil.

Soil with pH levels will not absorb nutrients like it should. Lime can bring pH Balance back to overly acidic soil and enhance growth. If your lawn looks bare and has moss then it may be time for lime treatment.

Disease Control

Brown Patch is a common disease lawns throughout North Carolina are affected by. Treatments are typically done in May & June.

Brown Patch is most common in the summer months.  Hot weather, seasonal rains, and humidity can cause your lawn to retain moisture at night. The water sits on the grass blades instead of evaporating which increases the risk of “brown patch” fungus.

Grub Control

Grub control is typically completed in May or June, it rids your lawn of these pests, and helps to keep your lawn looking pristine.

Grubs feed on grass roots and eventually develop into beetles, which then causes huge amounts of damage to foliage and flowers. Most grubs are hatched during the summer and feed throughout.

There are three ways to check and see if you have grubs
1. Peel back a small section of turf (as pictured beside) if you see white grubs, you have them
2. Moles- they chase grubs for food
3. Beetles- grubs turn into beetles, which in turn lay more eggs and the cycle continues

Overseeding

Usually done after the aeration process, overseeding will fill in any bare spots and enhance the density of the turf. Overseeding helps to establish new grass and improve the color of your lawn.

Lawn Aeration

Aeration is typically completed in Fall, and ensures your lawn stays lush and green.

Walking, playing, and mowing will compact soil and stress lawns. Raindrops and irrigation further compact the soil, reducing large air space where roots readily grow. Aeration can help relieve soil compaction, allowing your grass to grow deeper roots and make better use of water and fertilizer. After Aeration, your lawn should be able to go longer with out watering without showing signs of wilt.

Benefits of Aeration
• Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
• Enhanced soil water uptake.
• Improved fertilizer uptake and use.
• Reduced water runoff and puddling
• Stronger turf grass roots.
• Reduced soil compaction.
• Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.

Fertilizer Treatments

Fertilizer is typically completed in the fall and winter.  It is stored in the grass' roots to jump start growth in the early spring.

To stay healthy, lawns need different types of fertilization throughout the year.  Fertilizer will provide the lawn the nutrients/food necessary for the lawn to stay green and healthy.
